Is it normal to get an email saying someone added you on Facebook when you're not on it in the first place?

On facebook there is something called the invitation tool. You just put in email addresses. It will say something like this person is already on facebook and a request has been sent, this person is not on facebook would like to send them a request or something.

if you havent got facebook then you'll get an email with a link along with the persons name who invited you. if in doubt simply sign up to facebook with that email. when you do the friend request will still be there,

Is it normal to get an email saying someone added you on Facebook when you're not on it in the first place?
it might also mean someone is using your identity to be you or act like you.
Reply:It means that someone else is using your email ID for their facebook profile...you should discontinue that, it will be given somewhere in the mail.

Or it can mean whatever sam said..
Reply:That is normal and perfectly ok. People can invite other people to join facebook under the invite friends section by entering their email address. It is then your choice to join facebook and accept their invite or to ignore the email and not join.

If you are at all unsure about the authenticity of the email then do not click on any links on the email but go to facebook direct by typing in facebook.com in the address field. When you register with your email address it will then show you if a friend has tried to invite you.
Reply:I think it's ok. People can search for other people via email addresses and if your not registered on face book, it will send you a request.

To log into face book you have to use your email address and a password, so if someone else is using your email address for an account then it will soon tell you that you've already registered.

Whenever someone requests you as a friend, face book will always email to let you know.
Reply:It's possible that someone else (a friend or contact) has joined facebook and then tried to invite you.

If it's not just random spam and if it's got your REAL name on it (not just part of your email) chances are someone's registered you on facebook - or it's an invite from someone you know via facebook.

Go to facebook, typing in the address (don't click any links in the email - just in case!) for facebook. Try to log in with your email address, click "forgotten password" and see how far you get. If it says you're not registered - there's your answer! If you get a password sent to you - you are registered!
Reply:DELETE the email immediately ,as soon as you open it or click on the url ,It will goes trough all your emails and copies the addresses and then sends your friend in your email list and sends everyone the same email ,,be very careful
Reply:That is not normal.Sounds like someone has access to ur email and personal info.I think someone has hacked into ur stuff. It has happened to me and its not fun.
