I do NOT want to come off as desperate, but he drove, paid for an expensive meal, and was a complete gentleman. I would love to go out with him again but I'm not sure if I should be the one to re-initiate contact. What would you do?
If I went on a great first date last night, should I Email the guy today to thank him?
What would YOU like? If you went out of your way to impress someone and they seemed to enjoy your company, or a gift you gave them, or even something as simple as a compliment, wouldn't you appreciate a nice phone call to thank them and maybe arrange another night out? It's called "common courtesy" that is so UNcommon these days...
Reply:hmm.. im one of those people who never call the guy.. did u thank him on ur way home? that's what i would have done.. im not sure if u should e-mail him... depends on what he's like.. how do u think he will react? maybe just "bump" into him and start talking to him and mention how much you loved dinner last night.. don't stress it though.

Too much would be if you said "I hope you take me out again" or "please call me," or something like that. You could also let a little time go by and then ask him out.
